Properties worth large number of naira were on Wednesday annihilated in a fire episode at the Central command of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), on Wide road, Lagos.
The fire was said to have been set off by an electrical flood. It influenced three workplaces on the sixth floor of the structure however no life was lost.
Some staff, who argued secrecy, said they were simply settling down for the normal everyday employment’s the point at which the fire began.
The staff said those on the influenced floor were approached to remain at a point on the ground floor where head count of those working was taken by the wellbeing officials.
Head supervisor, Corporate and Key Correspondence of NPA, Olaseni Alakija, who affirmed the episode, said authorities of the NPA Fire Administration Division quickly assembled to the scene and immediately contained the fire.
Alakija said in accordance with security conventions, the influenced floor had since been cordoned off and examinations were continuous to learn the genuine reason for the fire.
“The fire influenced one office where 2 work areas, tables, seats and other furniture were lost. Two other connecting workplaces were influenced by smoke and ash.
“The Administration of the Authority likes the brief reaction and polished methodology of the Position’s Fire administration and security offices and wishes to guarantee all partners and the overall population that no delicate archives were lost and business as usual has been reestablished and that our activities have not been upset in any case” he said.
